PAIRING CYCLING WITH TOP WINES IN TRAMIN

The South Tyrolean lowlands around Tramin are a hotspot for asphalt eaters. The varied nature and typical South Tyrolean athmosphere takes you into another world. Around Tramin, Kurtatsch, Margreid and Kurtinig lies a beautiful cuvée to discover by road bike.

The altimeters you make over the pass roads in the Mendel Mountains and the recuperation/family tours you cycle in the valley. Here it goes from 200 to 2,000 meters above sea level and you are always on the trail of the Signature Gewürztraminer wine. Here in sunny South Tyrol you’ll be pumped full of the adrenaline and endorphins of bike rides combined with the pleasures of the taste buds!

Nor does it matter whether you prefer to cover altimeters and kilometers on the road or off the asphalt: from Tramin to Kurtinig, road and gravel bikers will find the perfect mix of flat and steep, from Lake Kaltern via Tramin to the South Tyrolean lowlands and Kurtinig. And of course, besides the wine, the culinary delights are not neglected in the sunny south of South Tyrol. In this region, there is no escaping the Italian-Mediterranean flavors during your tours through the endless idyllic vineyards along the South Tyrolean Wine Route.

Straight through the vineyards

The five-hill loop through the vineyards with 67 kilometers and 1,080 altimeters brings you right into the South Tyrolean cycling fun. And of course the real climbers do not miss the WOW feeling, because they are automatically drawn to the Mendel Pass (1,363 m) and the Passo Predaia (1,253 m)! By the way, in September there is a car-free cycling day here where the hairpin bends of the Mendola Pass Road are exclusively reserved for cyclosportives.

The finest selection of gravel tours

Prefer to bike away from the hustle and bustle of asphalt? Then take your gravel bike and gravel through the vineyards or along the rugged rock massif of Monte Roen (2,116 m). The descent into the Montigglerwald is also an experience not to be missed. Here you wind through a natural labyrinth of forest paths, hiking trails and singletrails, after which it’s time for a glass of well-chilled wine from Tramin!
