MERIDA AND JACK’S ART SERIES III

Sports bike brand Merida and Jack Liemburg recently launched a third series of paintings. The now internationally renowned painter Jack has used photographs taken of the Bahrain-Mclaren team last year and this year. The UCI World Tour team that continued this year under the name Bahrain-Victorious has achieved great successes in various races and served as the inspiration for an exclusive series of unique paintings.

“I really wanted the colors orange, red and light blue to stand out,” said Peter Koperdraad. ‘Jack’s works are always very original, with a theme. This was the third time we have worked with Jack, and once again I am very pleased with the results. Our collaboration started in 2015 with a series of paintings with Lampre-Merida as the theme, the World Tour team at the time. In 2019, there was a beautiful series on Amsterdam. And now about the successful Bahrain-Victorious team.”

“We deliberately chose a small edition and a size of 70x100cm so that each artwork can actually be hung in people’s homes, or in the store at our dealers. For example, in the corner where the racing bikes are. We have deliberately chosen an edition of only 30 pieces, which of course benefits the appearance, if you know that it is exclusive.” says Peter.

Jack continues: “Peter and I have been working together for a long time, he gives me a lot of material that I can work with right away. Because we have been working together for a long time, I now know exactly what the feeling is that Merida wants to radiate, it is a ‘cool’ sports bike brand and that splashes off the canvas.”

Besides artworks for Dutch celebrities such as Frans Duijts, Daley Blind and Gordon, Jack also creates special artworks for galleries throughout Europe and does a lot of private commissions.

“Often a whole family wants to be immortalized with e.g. Amy Winehouse and Michael Jackson. It’s all possible, for private commissions I have people come to my studio, located in a church, in Apeldoorn. There are more than 250 works of art, large and small, for inspiration. And together something beautiful often emerges. So too with Peter from Merida. He sells this limited collection or gives them as special gifts when a dealer has a special anniversary.”

The canvases will be available for sale through Merida’s webshop starting in mid-August.
