LANDAL CASTLE DOMAIN THE CAUBERG: THE CYCLING PARK OF THE NETHERLANDS

Professional cycling teams regularly stay here for training periods, Tom Dumoulin cycled his virtual Amstel Gold Race from a vacation home, several famous cyclists have their own street on the park and since last year a world cycling champion also lives here.

Landal Kasteeldomein de Cauberg in Valkenburg is clearly the place to be for cycling enthusiasts.

Perfect base

Located on top of the Cauberg and surrounded by all the famous hills from the Amstel Gold Race, Landal Kasteeldomein de Cauberg is the perfect base for a sporty cycling vacation. You will find several street names on the vacation park named after successful cyclists, including Philippe Gilbert, Joop Zoetemelk, Adrie van der Poel, Peter Sagan, Johan Museeuw, Jan Janssen and Eddy Merckx.

500 km of MTB route network

More and more mountain bikers are also finding their way to the vacation park. A 500-kilometer MTB route network ensures that this group of cyclists can also enjoy themselves. There is a classification within the various mountain bike routes. The color of the route indicates the difficulty so that every mountain biker can choose a route that suits him. Since last year, Landal Kasteeldomein de Cauberg has had its own mountain bike route. The 31.5 km long route runs partly across the park and can be extended to your own taste. Those who want to discover the most beautiful climbs and vistas can book a mountain bike guide through the park. This experienced local guide will choose a challenging 3-hour route appropriate to the level of the participants.

Cycling facilities

The fact that Landal Kasteeldomein de Cauberg is well equipped to receive cyclists is evident from the bicycle facilities available. There is a cleaning and repair area for bikes, the bike clothing can be washed and, as soon as the catering facility reopens, you can drink a ‘cycling beer’ in the cycling bar, which now looks more and more like a museum with unique cycling shirts and other collector’s items from successful cyclists. There will even be a separate shower room for cycling groups later this year.
