The last Grand Tour of the year is known for the many climbs that are tackled over three weeks. Steep slopes in particular color the route every year. Very steep, but usually not as long as in France or Italy. But that is not the case for the Pico de Veleta, because with almost 43 kilometers of climbing, it is one of the longest climbs in Europe.
