ON THE ROAD ON THE PASSES AROUND SAN VIGILIO IN THE DOLOMITES

Do you like challenges, wide panoramas and lots of altimeters? Then South Tyrol is the place for you. The famous Three Peaks/Drei Zinnen/Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Marmolada and the Sella Group await you in the San Vigilio Dolomites. Take on the challenge over these mythical dolomite cols and follow in the footsteps of the greatest champions like Bartali, Coppi, Merckx, Gimondi, Moser and Pantani.

The San Vigilio Dolomites region has dozens of breathtaking passes on the program. Whichever way you go: it’s guaranteed to make you sweat! If you like to get your calves burning, train and test your climbing rhythm on a cycling vacation, the Dolomites are the place to be. We highlight a few highlights to give you some ideas:

"You have not one, not two but four breathtaking passes ahead of you on the Sellaronda tour"

Sellaronda – Tour with 4 cols

You have not one, not two but four breathtaking passes ahead of you on the Sellaronda tour. It all revolves around the Sella Massif, starting at the Gardena Pass. From here we continue between the imposing rock walls to the Passo di Sella. With the last of our strength, we continue to the highest pass of the tour: the Passo di Pordoi at 2,239m. A fascinating view of the Tofana massif in the Dolomites stretches before you on the hard-earned route. From here it’s downhill to the final point of the trek: the Passo Campolongo.

Marmolada

The same start but with a different route. It starts at San Vigilio on the Passo di Gardena before heading to the Sellajoch/Passo di Sella. Now it goes down to Val di Fassa on the way to the highlight of the trip: the amazing Fedaia ascent overlooking the Dolomites’ highest mountain, the Marmolada (3343m). The Fedaia pass goes up to an altitude of 2057 meters where the beautiful Fedaia reservoir awaits you. One thing is certain: this col is one of the most difficult climbs in the Dolomites.

Tre Cime di Lavaredo – UNESCO world heritage tour

On this tour you will have to bring out your best climbing legs! We start from San Vigilio over the Valparola Pass towards Cortina d’Ampezzo. Continue cycling over the Tre Croci pass to the lake of Misurina. Here begins the famous steep climb of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, with gradients of up to 10%. Arriving at the Auronzo hut, your efforts will be amply rewarded: unobstructed views of Monte Cristallo, the Marmolada and Monte Pana.
