This third race route joins the classic 86 km and 60 km trails. The organisation offers hospitality packages, and reduced registration fees until 30 September 2023.
The season’s not done yet but it’s time to get thinking about what 2024 will have in store. There’s big news for next year’s HERO Südtirol Dolomites, one of the world’s toughest mountain bike marathon sitting in the UCI calendar in the prestigious Hors Class category: the iconic 86 km and 60 km trails are now joined by a third 71 km trail boasting 4,100 hm.
This route follows a lot of the existing 86 km route, but avoids the dreaded Ornella climb and 967 hm. From Arabba the trail will take the HEROes straight to the Passo Pordoi, along the 60 km route before taking them onto the 86 km route towards Selva Val Gardena.
The organisers created this route to open the competition to even more people, letting people who’ve already challenged themselves on the 60 km trail work their way up to the 86 km one, as well as simply letting keen mountain bikers test themselves in one of the world’s most popular and thrilling events.
Accommodation packages
The organisation values their relationship with the Val Gardena hospitality association, thanks to which they are able to offer special accommodation rates over 2 or 3 days for the 2024 event. The 2024 HERO Bike Festival package includes accommodation for three nights from Thursday 13 – Sunday 16 June 2024. The offer also includes a ticket to the HEROE Gourmet event on Sunday 16 June. This day of relaxation is all about the Dolomites, exploring the Seiser Alm and its local cuisine. Visitors can use their own mountain bike or e-mtb on one of two trails, stopping off at three huts to sample popular local dishes.
