BRICEN: THE IDEAL COMBINATION OF CITY, MOUNTAINS, RIVER AND FLOW

A cycling region nestled in the heart of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site, blessed with a long cycling season from April to November - it can only be great! In Brixen, South Tyrol, where the city and the mountains meet, we cycle away from the hustle and bustle to the mountain bike paradise between the historic old town, Brixen Cathedral and the local Plose mountain.

Here, your heart will simply start beating faster and the flow will come naturally. While you can enjoy a relaxing ride on the South Tyrolean cycle path in the valley, the Brixen Bike Park, whose five trails were designed by the Whistler makers, is full of adrenaline: flowing curves, lots of airtime and challenge. Around the Plose, exciting contrasts await: trail fun, mountains and far-reaching views meet urban culture and South Tyrolean cuisine in the heart of the city. This makes Brixen a pleasant change from other cycling destinations. The city is bustling with the South Tyrolean lifestyle with its many cafes, restaurants and museums and Italian classics such as gelato or pizza. A light white wine from the region, sunny terraces and the pleasant riverside are also part and parcel of a cycling holiday here. Because there is one thing you should not forget when you go cycling in Brixen: enjoy! Towns and mountains, pleasant valley loops and cool trails, fantastic views and impressive vistas. Brixen is simply so much more than just a mountain bike paradise.

Between heaven and earth

Brixen’s local mountain, the Plose, is a unifying element and is clearly visible from afar. The grassy peak offers a 360° panoramic view and an incredible skyline. It is therefore only logical that one of the oldest and still most varied routes in the Brixen Bikepark bears its name. The lines include the easy Jerry Line, the intermediate Hammer Line and the hand-built Palm Pro Line. And of course the two difficult trails with many panoramic views: the brand new Rock Line and the Sky Line. Both impress with an abundance of panoramic views. The brand new Rock Line was created on the lower part of the Sky Line, while the trail with the longest tradition – and not without reason the signature trail of the region – remains the Sky Line.

Brixen BIKEFESTA: meeting place for bikers & mountain lovers

You can experience just how versatile the region and its bikers are at the South Tyrolean BIKEFESTA in mid-September: From September 18-21, 2025, the historic city center of Bressanone/Brixen.

transformed into an outdoor bike expo. First-class advice, unique test opportunities and shared experiences are the focus for both novice and experienced bikers. Professionals can expect an intensive dialog here, while beginners gain their first insights and inspiration – from all-mountain to gravel to e-MTB. For testing, we will go through the vineyards in the fall, to the Brixen Bike Park on the Plose, over rolling alpine paths or directly on alpine Dolomite paths. Of course, the date was not chosen randomly – September in Brixen offers perfect weather and cycling conditions between the city, the countryside, the mountains and the flow.
