CYCLE TOUR – YOUR 500 KM CHALLENGE IN THE HEART OF GERMANY
500 km anniversary ride: CYCLE TOUR celebrates 5-year anniversary!
The 500 kilometers with a total of 3,000 heightmeters are covered in three stages. In a family atmosphere and without competitive character, 130 participants can look forward to varied routes and all-round care.
Also for novice cyclists!
There is a suitable challenge for every cyclist. For example, there is the family tour of just over 50 km. The start takes place on Sunday, September 08 at 10:30 a.m. on Karlsplatz in Bernburg at the official refreshment point of the CYCLE TOUR and offers especially beginners the opportunity to get to know and love the CYCLE TOUR.
Also on Sunday is the 100 km tour connecting the cities of Saxony-Anhalt, Magdeburg and Halle an der Saale. On this tour, every cyclist is welcome. It is a tour that can be done at your own pace. The 100 km tour is ridden separately from the Cycle Tour which covers 500 km over three days.
The Cycle Tour itself is a real challenge for the well-trained cyclist. Below we describe what to expect.
Day 1 – Magdeburg > Apolda
After the briefing and the distribution of the start numbers the night before, you and the other participants will leave on Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. from the Dom Square in Magdeburg – where the big finish is on Sunday – towards the sunny south. The ride runs parallel to the River Saale and leads riders through several beautiful landscapes. Hotel am Schloß in Apolda awaits you and invites all participants to a social gathering in the evening.

Altimeters: about 1,700 m
Day 2 – Apolda > Halle
Stage 2 in this edition is quite different from previous years and leads for the first time through the beautiful Weimarer Land, over the Leipziger Neue Seenplateau to Halle. You will arrive in Halle full of satisfaction and several participants will pat each other on the back for the performance of the past two days. Carboloading is now the order of the day so that the challenge can be completed tomorrow!

Day 3 – Halle > Magdeburg
The last stage will be fantastic! Together with more than 1,000 other participants of the CYCLE TOUR and transponder timekeeping you will start from the Hallmarkt in Halle along the Saale River on flat roads to Bernburg. The Saale continues to orient the participants and lead them from the south to Magdeburg, the capital of Saxony-Anhalt. Full of pride and joy, you have now completed the 500 kilometer challenge and can reminisce about your achievement.

Altitude gain: about 475 m
All-round feel-good package
The number of participants in the three-day tour is limited to 130. The starter package includes the organization of the tour, participation in the cyclo of the CYCLE TOUR including timekeeping, the official CYCLE TOUR jersey 2024, two nights’ accommodation in 4-star hotels, two dinners with two drinks per person, breakfast, luggage transport, catering with snacks, gels, fruits and drinks, other small provisions and a team of several people who will be at your side 24 hours a day for support, service and motivational words. The three-day tour is not a cycling race, but an organized road cycling tour.
