Zannata in full swing with new models and innovations
History
Zannata was launched on the Belgian market in 2000 by VDB Parts NV. This Belgian company is also the manufacturer of the renowned Oxford bicycles, amongst other things. At the very start of Zannata’s launch was Mr Johan Moeyersons, who, with his highly dynamic and direct, no-nonsense approach, established the brand on the market in no time at all with stunning models and a well-thought-out marketing strategy. This included, amongst other things, the sponsorship of the Pfaff Cycling Team, a collaboration with Roland Liboton to introduce the carbon cyclo-cross bike, the Z46, and Thibau Nys, who rode a Zannata on his first rides as a young lad. The biggest coup, however, was the partnership agreement with the Roodhooft brothers and the fact that Mathieu Van Der Poel became junior world champion on the “Z88 – The Blade”.
This was followed by many more Belgian titles with Sanne Cant, and Zannata became the proud sponsor of the professional team Veranda’s Willems – Accent. The brand’s heyday was between 2012 and 2014, when Zannata was widely recognised as an innovative, high-quality and competitively priced Belgian brand. However, due to reorganisations within the company, Zannata quietly began to fade into the background, leading a low-key existence without new innovations or ambition.
Zannata’s Revolta
In mid-2025, the new management of VDB Parts NV announced that they had reached a partnership agreement with the man who had been there from the very start of the project to bring the brand back to where it belongs: at the very top, amongst the very biggest brands. And sure enough, that fresh new breeze is sweeping through the Zannata range like a tornado in 2026.
“Zannata is Reloaded…2Win”
The slogan ‘Zannata Reloaded…2Win’ reveals the brand’s new ambition. For 2026, the focus is once again on innovation and technology. In this context, the new Z80 carbon frame was already unveiled as an entry-level model at the end of 2025, and the new Z81 frame will be presented at the Velofollies cycle show. The Z81 is a model specifically designed for women and/or children, featuring special geometry. The new alloy range is also ready, with all cables integrated, and development is underway on the new Z86, which is scheduled for launch in spring 2026. A great deal of effort has also been put into the design, with the reintroduction of the classic typeface of yesteryear on the frames. It all looks very attractive and brings the symbolism of past success into the present and into the ambitions for the future.
