There’s no long warm-up or gentle start here, because every route quickly brings you to the steep asphalt roads. With three distances plus a cyclo-rando open to e-bikes, everyone can choose their challenge in a beautiful setting. The event is also open to young riders aged 15 to 17, giving them the opportunity to discover a real Alpine ride in cycling form. For trained riders, the 125 km route with 4000 meters of elevation gain offers a full day of tough climbs and iconic cols. A step down, the 80 km route with 2800 m of elevation gain offers a more compact but still demanding ride. Finally, the 60 km option with 2,400 m of elevation gain, available as a cyclosportive or cyclo-rando, is ideal for riders of all levels, including e-bikers who want to enjoy the mountains at their own pace.
In addition to the sporting challenge, the organization pays a lot of attention to the experience: all participants receive a meal at the finish line, a perfect moment to share the emotions of the day. The first 500 registered riders will also receive a shirt as a memorable souvenir of the event. The organization also wants to highlight the invaluable work of the many volunteers. A team of passionate people who have been securing the cyclo and the course for years, managing the supply zones, welcoming the riders, and supporting the event from start to finish.
Reaching the top of the Col de la Madeleine is more than just crossing a finish line, it is a feeling of satisfaction, even happiness, from the effort! Indeed, through your own efforts and those of the organization, like-minded cyclists are united in the hardship and enjoyment on and around the summit of the Madeleine.
