Hohe Salve MTB paradise

Last June, we went mountain biking in the heart of this cycling paradise, enjoying the 360° panorama between Hohe Salve, Kitzbühel Alps, Wilder Kaiser, and Steinberge. Anyone who gets on a bike here will not only find epic trails under their tires, but also an impressive natural panorama. Rustic huts, flowing trails, and lots of adrenaline and endorphins can be found in the Kitzbühel Alps – Hohe Salve region.

If you don’t get an endorphin rush on the Hohe Salve in the middle of the Kitzbühel Alps and don’t take out your cell phone for a selfie, you probably just don’t like mountains. For everyone else, standing here at an altitude of 1,828 meters means pure happiness at the top. Because here we cycle against the dream backdrop of the Hohe Salve, the Kitzbüheler Horn, the legendary Hahnenkamm, the Windautal valley, and the natural paradise of Kelchsau.

Superlative region with charm

Whether under your own steam or with electric assistance, experienced cyclist or beginner – in the 800-kilometer-long and 32,300-meter-high trail network of the Kitzbühel Alps – Hohe Salve, everyone can find their way on a mountain bike. And if you want to save yourself the first few meters of altitude, you can take the lift up comfortably with your bike. A little name-dropping is also allowed – for the MTB enthusiast who wants more: Suntrail, Fleckalmtrail, Hahnenkammtrail, Gaisbergtrail, Wiegalmtrail. With the whole family, for example, we conquer the bike tour along the Windauer Ache to the Käsealm Straubing. Along the way, rustic huts with sun terraces invite you to take a break – relaxation and enjoyment are a must, of course!

The multi-day KAT Bike tour

Another highlight and gem of the region is the multi-day KAT Bike tour. Three stages, 160 km, and 4,700 meters of elevation gain lead right through the Kitzbühel Alps. Past the most beautiful spots in the regions from Hopfgarten to the PillerseeTal. One of the highlights of the KAT

Bike E-njoy is right at the start of the tour: the view from the Penningberg of the impressive Kitzbüheler Horn is breathtaking! The leisurely and enjoyable E-njoy variant takes you along beautiful bike paths in the valley and rolling alpine meadows – the sporty variant with a few bonus kilometers and meters of elevation gain also takes you along some challenging trails with very technical descents. It is more than clear that there is no better way to experience the Kitzbühel Alps than from the saddle.

EldoRADo Bike Festival action and fun in Angerberg

After the numerous tours and trails in the region, all of which were a success this year, the EldoRADo Bike Festival is the next big highlight for all cycling enthusiasts. In May 2026, Angerberg will once again become a mountain mecca, where cyclists and trail runners will give their all on the MTB marathon routes. New: for the first time, there will be a gravel bike class on course C of the marathon, adding extra excitement. And while the athletes deliver top performances, street food trucks with culinary delicacies will create the right atmosphere and give spectators energy for the exciting spectacle.
