Challenging Cycling Through Flemish Brabant

Visit Flemish Brabant treats cyclists to no fewer than four challenging road routes totaling 450 km and 600 km of gravel routes. On the road routes, you’ll follow the same roads where Eddy Merckx, Sven Nys, and Remco Evenepoel gained their first cycling experience and did their training rides.

But you can also ride your own cycling classic along the roads of the Brabantse Pijl. During the 2024 Gravel World Championships, everyone saw that Flemish Brabant, with its rolling landscape, also offers challenging gravel roads. There are no fewer than six different routes available, including the World Gravel Championships Route and the challenging roads from the “Dwars door het Hageland” race. Along the way, you’ll pass the region’s most beautiful spots and can enjoy the 10 murals that immortalize the love for cycling. A unique opportunity for a wonderful souvenir photo. A compact, pocket-sized brochure is available for the routes, and you can download the routes using the QR code. All the necessary information can be found at www.visitvlaamsbrabant.be/fietsen/vind-een-fietsroute.

In my opinion, exploring new roads is just as joyful and addictive as cycling itself. And since 1+1 has always been at least two, it’s also twice as much fun and enjoyment.
